On-Camera Appearances

I have experience interviewing newsmakers on camera and appearing on talkshows and other segments to talk about my reporting.

Coronavirus updates with Connecticut Education Commissioner Miguel Cardona and Gov. Ned Lamont

These interviews were done through Zoom and broadcasted live on the Record-Journal’s Facebook page, allowing readers to submit questions by commenting in real time.

These interviews were part of a series of virtual interviews I held during the coronavirus pandemic, dubbed “Community Conversations,” as a way to take advantage of Zoom and Facebook Live to get updates and information to the public during the pandemic. Richie Rathsack, the RJ’s assistant managing editor, helped facilitate the conversations and curate reader questions.

Candidate Forum with candidates for Connecticut’s 13th Senate District

The coronavirus pandemic made it difficult to put together the kind of in-person candidate forums the Record-Journal would traditionally hold, so I organized this virtual forum ahead of Connecticut’s 2020 state elections. The forum was broadcasted through Facebook Live and readers were able to submit questions and engage in real time.

Appearance on “Citizen Mike” public access talk show

During my time as the RJ’s Wallingford beat reporter, I made appearances on a local public access talk show, “Citizen Mike,” to talk about my latest stories with host Mike Brodinsky, a former Wallingford Town Councilor.

On this episode, I was asked to talk about, among other things, my reporting on a “walkout” demonstration carried out by local high school students to condemn gun violence following the Parkland School shooting in 2018.
